Cheese fresh from the farm. In the Netherlands, there are still around 3000 farmer's families who produce cheese from the milk of their own cows.
The milk that is used often comes directly from the cow. Traditionally, every farm has its own recipe. This makes that every Dutch farmhouse cheese has its own unique taste. The great variation in flavour is also due to the differences in the feed for the animals, the grass they eat and the soil on which they stand.
